About Nurture Therapy - Welcome

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”

Sarah Reid - Nurture Therapy

Nurture Therapy and Sarah Reid

My name is Sarah Reid and I am a fully registered and Accredited Play Therapist. I have trained with and obtained my post-graduate diploma with The Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy through NUI Galway. I also hold an IACP approved postgraduate diploma in Integrative Adolescent psychotherapy with the Greenane institute. Over the years I have completed various other training courses including occupational and paediatric first aid, child protection, Cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing techniques, solution-focused therapy and mindfulness.

I have worked with children and their families for more than fifteen years. I have had the privilege of working with various organisations including preschools, resource centres, primary schools and also within my own private practice.

During my time with each organisation, I have gained valuable experience in a variety of multi-disciplinary teams which has enabled me to develop a greater insight into our children’s lives. This has helped me to really understand, support and enable children to cope with life’s changing rhythms.

Nurture therapy offers your child or adolescent a safe space where they can be themselves completely whilst working through and exploring any issues that may be preventing them from achieving their full potential. I feel privileged every day to be in a position to offer this safe and accepting space to my clients and I look forward to hearing from you soon and of course feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

A place to be ME!

At nurture child and adolescent therapy we ensure that the children and young people who attend our service feel welcomed, accepted and safe in their theraputic journeys. We work to support each individual as they grow in confidence, resillience and self-worth.

The Importance of Play

Play is the most important activity a child can take part in. Play is not only the essence of a happy childhood, it’s the way children learn about themselves, their bodies, their environments and the people and objects that surround them. For a child play is a serious business. Through play, a child develops self-confidence, a positive self-image and also learns to express their feelings, make decisions and cope with real life situations.

At Nurture child and adolescent therapy, we ensure that the children and young people who attend our service feel welcomed, accepted and safe in their therapeutic journeys. We work to support each individual as they grow in confidence, resilience and self-worth.

Our promise to you:

Every child is different, when they choose to work with us in therapy our job is to support them and to join them on their own journey at their own pace and to ensure they feel safe and supported throughout this. During our sessions we garuantee to:

  • meet your child where they are at and with authenticity
  • we will use all our training and experience to do our best to support your child to help themselves to reach their full potential.
  • Every time your child is in our care they will respected, valued and accepted for who they are.
